WrongfulDeath2

The unexpected and unfortunate death of a Louisiana State University pole vaulter in a deadly car crash just last month has some Louisiana families wondering exactly what their rights are under Louisiana laws if they lose their loved one in a car accident. According to local news reports, on Wednesday, February 26, at around 9:07 p.m. in the evening, two individuals, including LSU pole vaulter Dillon Reidenauer, were killed in a two-vehicle accident near South Quad Drive in Baton Rouge. Investigators believe that the horrific and fatal accident occurred when Reidenauer, who was driving a Honda Accord, attempted to make a left turn on to South Quad Drive, and her vehicle was hit by an oncoming motorcycle that was traveling north on Nicholson Drive. The 23-year-old motorcyclist, Bohdi Linton, and Reidenauer both died as a result of their injuries from the accident. The LSU Athletics department released the following statement about the tragic and fatal car accident that took one of their own: “We are devastated by the tragic passing of Dillon Reidenauer, who was taken from us much too soon,” LSU track and field coach Dennis Shaver said. “Everyone in our LSU Track & Field family is keeping Dillon’s loved ones in our thoughts and prayers, as well as those of the other individuals lost in the incident.” Reidenauer was a freshman at LSU and was pursuing a degree in interior design when she passed away.
