Claiborne County, Mississippi Car Accident Leaves 1 Person Dead and 7 Injured, What Can the Survivors Do to Get Justice?

A terrible and fatal multi-vehicle car accident shook the community of Claiborne County, Mississippi in the early morning hours on Wednesday of last week. According to local news reports, three separate vehicles were involved in a car accident at around 5:49 a.m. in the morning on MS-547 near Tillman Road in Claiborne County on February 5. Reports indicate that the vehicles involved in the three-car-accident were a 2007 GMC driven by Fayette, Mississippi resident Charles Oliver, 65 years old; a 2011 Nissan Rogue driven by Wesson, Mississippi resident, 52-year-old Michael McCullough; and a 2023 Ford Transit driven by 63-year-old Janie Ellis, from Lorman, Mississippi. The 2023 Ford Transit had 6 passengers riding in it, ranging from a minor from Port Gibson, Mississippi, to a 68-year-old man. Investigators believe that the 2007 GMC “side-swept” the Nissan Rogue, which then collided with the Ford Transit. While the driver of the Nissan Rogue is reported to have “sustained no injuries” the driver and passengers of the Ford Transit were taken to the hospital for emergency medical treatment. The extent of their injuries was unknown at the time of the most recent reports. Tragically, Charles Oliver, the driver of the GMC, was killed in the car accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
