Following the initial investigation, Deputies learned that a pedestrian was initially involved in a single-vehicle crash and was walking from the scene when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Cypress Island Extension…The crash investigation remains ongoing, and toxicology results are pending.” Reports do not indicate whether the driver of the car that hit Mayfield was injured, and their current status as the investigation unfolds.
