However, your employer cannot terminate your employment solely because you filed a workers’ compensation claim.” Simply put, while a Louisiana employer needs to leave a job open for an injured employee out on workers’ compensation, it also cannot terminate an employee in retaliation for filing a Louisiana workers’ compensation benefits claim.
